Humanitas Afrika dressmaking workshop in the rural community of Obom in Ghana has been the only apprenticeship vocational training center in that rural community and surrounding villages for many years.

In 2005, the organization sent Ms. Nikola Hauerova, then a young Czech student volunteer at Humanitas Afrika, as a first-time traveler to Africa with the responsibility and mission to start the dressmaking project at Obom.

We are starting a new Swahili course with our teacher Alice, a native speaker from Tanzania

1. Crossroads of People, Crossroads of Trade

Documentary film, history – Ghana, 1994, directed by Kwaw Ansah, English with Czech subtitles, 40 min

This documentary film presents Ghanaian people and their traditions starting from the times preceding their first encounter with Europeans through the Slave trade and Bristish colonialism.

In 2007-2008, Humanitas Afrika implemented a project named Bon Départ in the capital of Burkina Faso, Ouagadougou. In collaboration with two local schools, we trained not less than 100 women in basic administrative skills. Young women who applied for this course didn’t complete their education and due to this, many of them were in difficult situation.
